Richard Bernstein is most widely remembered today as the creator of Interview Magazine’s iconic covers. Even beyond that he was one of the pioneers and architects of Pop Art. His technicolor work captured the glamour, extravagance, and innovation of the Pop Art era. His unmistakable use of color and the style of his artworks are unique and instantly recognizable.

Bernstein was at the center of the New York social scene in the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Bouncing around from the Warhol Factory and Studio 54, his art was inspired but the pop culture that surrounded him. His vibrant pill paintings, sensuous gem paintings and iconic portraits resonate with people around the world.

Today, his works are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The National Portrait Gallery among others.
