Hueman is a multidisciplinary artist based in Oakland, CA. Her distinctly gauzy art style is what she likes to call “etherealism,” a blend of ethereal realism. Whether she is creating delicate visions on canvas, augmenting reality through tech, or crushing massive walls with a spray can, she often draws on the human condition to create colorful mash-ups of abstract and representation.

Hueman has broken countless boundaries as a woman in the male-dominated world of street art. The name Hueman, which doesn’t assume any gender, allows for people to focus on the art rather than the person creating it. “It takes a special inner strength to be a female artist in a male- dominated scene, and also a mother,” says Hueman. Between her busy career and family, her self-care rituals are sacred to preserve her own strength so that she is ready to face each day.
