Los Angeles lifestyle brand PLEASURES has dropped its capsule collection featuring the works of Robert Mapplethorpe.

Robert Mapplethorpe was an American photographer best known for his black and white photographs. Mapplethorpe began producing his own Polaroid photographs early on in his career, saying he felt “it was more honest”. Years later, Sam Wagstaff, benefactor and mentor, gave Mapplethorpe a Hasselblad 500 camera where he began shooting his circle of friends and acquaintances – artists, musicians, socialites, film stars, and members of the S&M underground.

His vast, provocative, and powerful body of work has established him as one of the most important artists of the twentieth century and is still represented in galleries across the globe.

PLEASURES created a collection inspired by Mapplethorpe’s legacy for all to enjoy.
